Last July the Wilson family went on their first camping trip in the mountains. None of them had ever slept in a tent before, so they were both excited and a little nervous. They packed sleeping bags, warm clothes and plenty of food, because there were no shops near the campsite.
Putting up the tent turned out to be much harder than they had expected. It took almost an hour and a lot of laughing before it finally stood up straight. That evening they cooked sausages over a small fire and watched the stars, which were brighter than any they had seen in the city.
During the night it rained heavily, but luckily the tent kept them dry. In the morning the air smelled fresh and clean, and they went for a long walk beside a cold mountain stream. Although the trip was not always comfortable, the whole family agreed it had been a real adventure and decided to go camping again the following summer.
