Last summer the Carter family decided to spend their holiday in Scotland instead of going abroad. They rented a small cottage near a lake and spent most of their days hiking in the hills. Although the weather was often cloudy, they had a wonderful time and took hundreds of photographs. In the evenings they cooked dinner together and played board games, because there was no television in the cottage.
One of the best parts of the trip was the new sports centre in the nearest town, which had opened the month before. It had a swimming pool, two tennis courts and a large gym. Visitors could use the pool for free on Saturday mornings, but they had to book a place online in advance. Mr Carter said it was the most relaxing holiday the family had ever had, and they promised to come back next year.
