Last Saturday Sophie went shopping with her mum. They didn't go to the big shopping centre in the city. Instead, they walked to the small market near their house, because the fruit there is always fresh and cheaper.
Sophie's mum had a long list. First, they bought some apples, bananas and a lot of carrots for soup. Then they looked for new shoes for Sophie, but the shoe shop was closed, so they decided to come back another day.
Sophie wanted a chocolate cake, but her mum said no. "You can choose some strawberries instead," she said. Sophie wasn't happy at first, but the strawberries were delicious, so soon she changed her mind.
They carried four heavy bags home. Sophie's little brother Tom didn't come with them, because he was at his football lesson. When they got home, everyone was hungry, and Sophie helped her mum make a big salad for lunch.
